Pandemic protocol on this week's podcast sends us both forwards and backwards in time, even though both topics are technically sci-fi tales and one is set in 2012 but it was released in 2007...look, the podcast is more interesting than this, let's just cut to the chase.
First off, Jeremy reunites with USGamer.net's Mike Williams to delve into a game that birthed a modern mega-franchise, Assassin's Creed. Before Ubisoft took the brand on a world tour of settings and situations, there was exactly one game about one guy who carefully killed people during the Third Crusade. That's why it is called Assassin's Creed and not Assassins' Creed. Punctuation matters!
After that, Jeremy is joined by a Retronauts supporter on Patreon named Andrew Oliveira who has a great love and much knowledge concerning Sega's battling-robot brand, Virtual On. Originally an arcade series, these days the robots duke it out on home consoles and yes, like Assassin's Creed, they are still at it to this day.
Description: USgamer's Mike Williams joins Jeremy to discuss the early days of Ubisoft's virtual history sim Assassin's Creed, then patron Andrew Oliveira steps in to walk us through the history of Sega's mech-powered brawling cult favorite Virtual On.
