Chrono Trigger really is something isn't it? I can't open a "best RPG" or "best SNES game" or "best game EVER" list without Chrono Trigger's familiar box art (courtesy of Akira Toriyama) staring me in the face. But what about the sequel, Chrono Cross? Its 20th anniversary (in the U.S.) is just days away and it sold millions of copies, but I never hear people talk about that second game like I do its predecessor - at least, that used to be the case before I listened to this week's episode of Retronauts!
Yes, it turns out Jeremy found two people (Nadia Oxford of USGamer & Axe of the Blood God and Jared Petty of The Top 100 Games Podcast) who love Chrono Cross almost as much as loves Chrono Cross, and the three of them use their passion for good to tell the rest of us why this game matters so much. Also included with this episode: an answer to the question "is Chrono Cross' soundtrack the greatest soundtrack ever made, and why is that not open to debate?"
Description: Jeremy Parish crosses realities to recruit Nadia Oxford and Jared Petty for an in-depth discussion of controversial Squaresoft RPG classic Chrono Cross on the occasion of its 20th anniversary in the U.S. (No weird accents or speech quirks… we pwomise.)
