I may have yet to finish a single Metal Gear video game, but the series' fans are so devoted that even I understand the general "vibes" of the series. Metal Gear Solid on PS1 was hailed as an instant classic, while the sequel on PS2 had a far rockier reception. Yet one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that Metal Gear Solid 3 is a masterpiece. Konami must think highly of it as well, considering how many times the publisher has re-issued the game on various consoles. That includes a special 3D version for the Nintendo 3DS—the only Metal Gear game for that platform!
Here in 2025, Konami has once again dipped into the well by releasing a full-on remake of the game titled Metal Gear Solid Delta. Host Bob Mackey welcomes artist Maddie Copp and podcaster Brendan James onto the program to go over what's new, what's not, and what's the deal with using a Greek letter in the title
Description: No, you're not still in a dream: Metal Gear Solid 3 is now over two decades old. Despite its age, the peak of Hideo Kojima's tactical espionage action series remains more relevant than ever thanks to a shiny, new remake released this year. But is Delta's faithfulness its fatal flaw? On this episode, join Bob Mackey, Maddie Copp, and Brendan James (of the Blowback podcast and Chapo Trap House's new MGS miniseries) as the crew decides if feeding on a tree frog in stunning 4K is truly worthwhile.
