Retronauts Episode 732: Meet the Flintstones

The Flintstones debuted on American television in 1960 and ran for six seasons. You wouldn't think that would warrant an ongoing media empire but thanks to syndication, the rise of cable channels in the 80s desperate for material, and a big-budget live-action movie in 1994, a surprising number of video games star the so-called "modern stone-age family."

Even more surprising: host Stuart Gipp and returning guests John Linneman and Thomas Nickel assert that some of these video games outshine their origins as licensed shovelware and actually hold entertainment value! Which ones? You'll have to feed this podcast to a bird and listen as it screeches out the recording to learn the truth.

Description: WIIIILMAAAA! Don’t take Flintstones games for “granite”. Join Stuart Gipp, John Linneman, and Thomas Nickel as we talk the old-school Stone Age family.
