It's a brand-new year and here at Retronauts that only means one thing: Rifling through past years that end in the same digit and talking about stuff from the past. Since it's now 2026, that affords us a chance to look back at 1976 and 1986, two monumental moments in history. You can argue that the former delivered fewer impactful games than the latter, but only if you discount the sheer number of knock-offs and "inspired by" hits that followed in Breakout's wake.
