Retronauts Episode 752: Star Trek + Sega R360
Boldly Going to the Old Line State
Two months into 2026 and our first live recording of the year has arrived on the podcast. We had a modest Retronauts presence at MAGFest back in January which we can now offer to your ears for entertainment purposes.
First, Kevin Bunch and Brian Clark talk about Sega's high-octane R360 arcade cabinet that, as the name suggests, rotates in 360 degrees. Brian produced an in-depth video on this hardware last year which deserves your attention.
Second, Kevin examines the (metaphorically) ancient era of Star Trek video games developed by fans back when the show had concluded its original run and no one expected it would ever return. Kevin prepared a PDF summarizing his live panel and uploaded a brief clip of this homemade Trek arcade game from the late 70s.
Description: Spin you right round baby, right round baby! Kevin Bunch and Brian Clark talk about Sega’s gravity-defying R360 arcade hardware, followed by Kevin’s MAGfest panel about Star Trek fan games.
