Listener mail call: G.I. Joe

Ask yourself, do I feel like a real American hero? Well, do ya?

A couple of weeks ago, I joined Bob and Retronauts regular Henry Gilbert for an episode of their What a Cartoon! podcast centered around a classic, memorable installment of the G.I. Joe cartoon. I went kind of deep into the history of the franchise there, because I'd been planning to put together a Retronauts show on the topic and had a lot of material prepped.

Now it's time to make that episode happen, and we'd like to include your memories of the biggest toy and comics property of the early ’80s. (No, seriously, it was huuuuge.) We'd like to include a listener mail segment on G.I. Joe, specifically about the video games—but opinions about other aspects of the brand are OK, too. Even... even the live-action movies. If you must.

Here is your writing prompt:

What is your strongest G.I. Joe memory, be it for video games or otherwise?

You can contribute one of two ways: One, simply post in the comments below! Alternately, you can send me an email message at jparish [at] retronauts [dot] com.

The usual rules apply. Please tender your submission no later than end of day Oct. 1! And please try to keep your submission shorter than 200 words—not that we don't appreciate the enthusiasm that fuels feature-length letter submissions, but there's just not enough time to read those bad boys aloud in their entirety. Thanks!
