Retronauts Episode 705: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown - The Metroidvania Book Club Book II Pt. I
dude's STILL a Prince?? it's been 40 years!

Last year we kicked off a new initiative to propagate our collective love for exploration-heavy action games with the Metroidvania Book Club. Our first choice played things safe with a literal Castlevania game from 2008, decidedly retro & on-brand.
This time we're stepping out in two ways: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown features no Metroids or Vanias and it's not a retro video game at all. Of course, as series go, Prince of Persia certainly has a long history, so keep that in mind as host Jeremy Parish and returning guests Stuart Gipp, Chris Sims, and Kate Willaert discuss a new game in the hopes that you'll play it too.
Remember, we have a special channel in the Retronauts Discord dedicated to our Metroidvania Book Club available to all Patreon supporters at the $5 level (or higher). Your comments will help inform our follow-up podcast on the matter!
Description: Jeremy Parish, Kate Willaert, Chris Sims, and Stuart Gipp open the book on their next collaborative community playthrough (Prince of Persia: The Lost Sands) by discussing the game's heritage and sharing listener thoughts on the first half of the quest.
