Retronauts Episode 708: Sonic's Rough Transition into 3D

you might call it the greatest Adventure of them all

As a Retronaut I have been open and honest about my lack of personal connection to Sonic the Hedgehog; I even hosted an entire episode about experiencing Sonic Frontiers as a outsider to the fandom and lore. But even with my relative inexperience with Sonic, I know that after Nintendo started translating their most popular characters from 2D to 3D, Sega's attempts with Sonic didn't quite match anyone's expectations.

Host Stuart Gipp has reuninted his regular Sonic sages—Dave Bulmer and Seumidh MacDonald—to talk about what happened during this era, highlighting some wins and analyzing the losses. Fortunately, our podcast experiences no such issues regardless of the number of dimensions a topic contains.

Description: The Stu, Dave, and Seumidh dream team returns to tackle the contentious issue of Sonic the Hedgehog’s rough transition into 3D gaming. We were there, and it was.
