Kickstarter Kompilation: February 2026 edition
Books, raccoons, and pizza: what more do you need?
Well well well I hope everyone reading this has stopped writing 2025 on your checks by now! Or in my case, the metadata for the MP3 files I produce as a Retronauts contributor. As a general rule we recommend only backing crowdfunding campaigns if you feel comfortable with your own security and stability. We have no insider information or financial interest in any of these projects (unless noted otherwise) and no one at Retronauts has been compensated for including anything on this page. To the best of my ability I have not (and never will) endorse any campaign built around AI-generated assets.
Playstation Anthology: The Tetralogy (ends February 6 estimated reward date December 2026)
From Geeks Line Publishing, this four-volume set covers the history and software of the Sony PlayStation. The books were originally written and printed in French but this campaign is for an English-language edition. Backers can also increase their pledge to acquire more books from the publisher dedicated to other consoles.
Pizza Kidd (ends February 8 estimated reward date April 2027)
Are beat-em-ups making a comeback or am I just nostalgic? Who can say, but I like the looks of Pizza Kidd with its fluid animation and big aerial combos. There's a demo on Steam if you'd like to sample the goods.
32 Bit Library Greatest Hits Volume 1 (ends February 12 estimated reward date July 2026)
Darren Hupke has a new book in the works, a Deluxe Edition highlighting 50 PlayStation games which Sony sold under the Greatest Hits label. As you can guess, this will include the most popular titles on that platform such as Die Hard Trilogy, Fighting Force and Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. A full list of planned write-ups is on the Kickstarter page.
Trash Heart (ends February 14 estimated reward date February 2026?)
I love raccoons and Metroidvanias so this project immediately captured my attention. There's a demo available on itch.io or Steam to try it for yourself.
ABIDE (ends February 28 estimated reward date November 2026)
Call me sentimental but as weirdos embrace artwork made by a computer that looks too smooth, I'm more drawn than ever to hand-made creations such as stop-motion animation. Following their two previous releases, Talha & Jack Co want your help in funding a new horror game that uses "prosthetic gore effects, stop motion and dolls scanned into 3d models."
