Retronauts Episode 704: Resident Evil Revelations
What do you mean "that's not how you spell Revelaitons"??

Last year in episode 599, we talked at length about Resident Evil 5 and 6, two games that took Capcom's long-running series dangerously close to abandoning its "survival horror" ethos. But did you know that while Chris and Jill and the rest were punching and kicking zombies by the dozens, Capcom also produced two spinoffs that sought to reaffirm Resident Evil as scary?
Resident Evil Revelations [sic] and its sequel focused on slow-moving monsters in tight spaces, limiting players' access to resources and forcing them into situations where they'd be outnumbered. Did they successfully right the ship? That's for you to decide, but we're here to discuss the context of these games' original release and how we feel about them today.
Diamond Feit serves as host this week, joined by regular Retronaut Stuart Gipp and returning guest Richard Eisenbeis. Take note: no conversation about Resident Evil Revelations 2 can omit Moira Burton's prodigious use of profanity, so don't play this podcast within earshot of impressionable children or her father Barry.
Description: Diamond Feit, Stuart Gipp, & Richard Eisenbeis reflect on the Resident Evil Revelations spinoff series which nurtured the franchise's horror roots while the mainline games embraced blockbuster action.
