Retronauts Episode 791: The Metroid Legacy: The Successors
call this Metroid: Other P(odcast)
Metroid turned 40 years old on August 6, 2026. To celebrate that milestone and a game we really enjoy 'round these parts, we planned an entire episode to mark the occasion. Yet when we sat down and recorded said episode, we ended up exceeding our allotted time.
The good news is not only did we record a second episode about Metroid's 40th anniversary, we did so for our public feed and released it to the general public. It's an upgrade for the world, really, and you don't have to thank us (although you might consider joining our Patreon to hear the previous episode plus many more exclusives)
Jeremy Parish stands as host this week, fresh off a Metroid-themed panel at Long Island Retro Gaming Expo. Joining Jeremy are myself (Diamond Feit) and returning Metroid historian "Critical" Kate Willaert.
Description: Jeremy Parish, Diamond Feit, and Kate Willaert trek back to the starting point now that they're equipped with the skills and tool to unlock the second half of their discussion of Metroid's 40th anniversary.
