Retronauts Episode 159: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
This week, we take a look at the blast from the past that revived the Metal Gear Solid series.
Episode description: In 2004, Hideo Kojima restored his famous series' reputation with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This third entry in the Metal Gear Solid series eschewed the excessively meta approach of the previous sequel for a James Bond-ish romp in an entirely new setting that still provided plenty of convoluted--and incredibly amusing--twists and turns. The result is a modern classic that's brimming over with so many great, unique ideas, we barely have time to scratch the surface in 90 minutes! On this episode, join Bob Mackey, Jeremy Parish, Mikel Reparaz, and Wes Fenlon as the crew takes a closer look at Metal Gear Solid 3 under the survival viewer.
